Chng Huck Theng was appointed as the acting president of Malaysia’s oldest art society, the Penang Art Society. Former president Dato’ Koh Wee Khian has retired at the age of 93, being the last remaining founder of this association. He was the 3rd president and have been a member since the very first day 56 years ago. Chng is the youngest to lead this prestigious society.

Jan 17 -- CHT Network will be sponsoring the first one person art exhibition by Tan Kai Shuen in Galeri Seni Mutiara from Jan 18 to Feb 4. An art catalog will be published for this young artist who graduated from Taiwan in art.

Chng was being appointed Member, Board of Trustees, National Art Gallery Malaysia. He is the youngest to serve in the board.

JUL 20 -- Chng Huck Theng's painting entitled 'The Jekyll' was sold for S$13,000 (excluding buyer's and seller's premium of 25%) at the Borobudor May 2008 Auction in Singapore. After 3 successful solo exhibition in Malaysia in conjunction with the launch of Ch'ng's coffee table artbook, 'The Journey', sponsored by ABN AMRO bank. Ch'ng's
solo exhibition in Malinda Gallery, Jakarta, Indonesia successfully ended on Jul 16.
